Led by Alex Flores, the Kingsport Mets defeated the Greeneville Astros, 6-3. Flores, a native of Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Mets. The winner in relief was Luis Cordova. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 7 hits in 3.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Paul Osteen was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 6 save opportunities.

Zach Delaney had a big 2-run double for the Mets in the bottom of the second inning. With Kingsport leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a knuckle curve from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Justin Wiedenbeck and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mets ahead, 3-0.

Delaney told a Kingsport Observer reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
