The Danville Braves used a great performance from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Shane Fielder to beat the Greeneville Astros, 3-1, at American Legion Field. Fielder, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. The 4th-place Braves hiked their record to 39-33.

The Braves got a big at-bat from first baseman Cody Fritz. For the game, Fritz was 1-1 with a double and 3 walks. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Danville a 2-0 lead.
