The Kingsport Mets got a magnificent performance from pitcher Shane Hershey, who stifled the Burlington offense en route to a 2-0 Mets win at Burlington Athletic Stadium. Raul Delgado recorded his 5th save for Kingsport. Kingsport is now 55-18, Burlington 56-18.
Bob Bell hit a run-scoring triple off Javier Hernandez in the top of the third, which put the Mets in front, 1-0. Bell had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
Hershey said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
