Riding the 2-hit performance of the 19-year old shortstop Lorenzo Silva, the Bluefield Blue Jays stopped the San Francisco (Rk+) Giants, 6-1. Bluefield pitcher Dave Grey got the win. He's now 3-0. Eric Lewis was tagged with the loss. Brian Bunting was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 5 save opportunities.

With Bluefield leading 2-1 in the top of the sixth, Silva hit a run-scoring single off San Francisco (Rk+) hurler Jose Aguilar. It was the 63rd hit of the season for Silva and put his team ahead, 3-1.

"We understand we didn't play our best baseball," said losing manager Jeremy Marshall. "We'll shower it off and be ready to compete."

The Blue Jays bumped their record to 44-30 with this latest triumph.
