Despite a fine performance by first baseman Brandon Skogstad, the Kingsport Mets lost to the San Francisco (Rk+) Giants, 8-1. Skogstad was 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. San Francisco (Rk+) reliever Raul Ramos picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Dave Ives absorbed the loss. The first-place Giants have won 5 consecutive games.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Juan Moran? The San Francisco (Rk+) right fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Giants on top, 4-1. For the game, Moran had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
