Win Goes to Brewers in Tight Contest
|
Walt Baranyi was a vital contributor to the 4-2 Milwaukee victory over Washington. The Brewers shortstop went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Dave Zuwiski collected save number 15. The last-place Brewers go to 27-31.
Baranyi had a timely hit for Milwaukee in the bottom of the eighth. With Milwaukee trailing 2-1, he turned a 1-2 curveball into a 2-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season, making it 3-2, Milwaukee.
"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Washington manager Doug Graff.
