Andino scores 3 runs, Leads Royals to Win
|
The Kansas City Royals downed the San Francisco Giants, 10-3. The hitting star was second baseman Fernando Andino. Andino was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Royals. Steve Tucker was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save. The Royals raised their record to 38-22.
Julio Shifflett had a big 2-run double for the Royals in the bottom of the third inning. With Kansas City trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from Juliano Capela, who is tied for 5th in the NL with a 1.09 WHIP, and swatted a double to center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Royals ahead, 3-2.
"This is truly a great team to play with," Andino said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."
