Baltimore Absorbs 4-3 Loss to Seattle
|
Ramon Soto had a good game, but he could not keep the Baltimore Orioles from falling, 4-3, to the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field. The Baltimore second baseman went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the loss. Mel Valdez got the win, improving to 4-4. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 10 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 0. The last-place Mariners go to 23-35.
Ray McNary, the 5th overall pick in the 2105 draft, came through for Seattle with a 2-run double in the bottom of the sixth. The left fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 4 runs batted in.
"We think we're a good team overall, so we're not too surprised to win today," said McNary.
