Shaw Slugs Cubs to 10-4 Win
|
A 4-RBI performance from the 29-year old catcher Amir Shaw helped the Chicago Cubs beat the Cincinnati Reds, 10-4. Chicago is second in the National League Central Division with a record of 38-23.
Had Armando Valenzuela not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Valenzuela hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Cubs.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Shaw. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
