Thomas Pops Two Homers in 8-7 Win for New York
|
New York second baseman Brandon Thomas had a 5-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 8-7. Brandon Moore, now 4-3, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. New York currently is in last place in the American League East Division at 28-32.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Carlos Jeronimo came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Toronto pitcher Adam Lyons, he hit a 1-2 changeup for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting New York on top, 8-7.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Thomas told the New York Daily.
