Streaking Nationals Win Another One, 4-1
|
The Washington Nationals topped the Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-1, in National League action at Nationals Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Washington pitcher Bill Freake. Freake yielded 1 run over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-5. Alvin Janosky recorded his 3rd save for Washington.
Andres Antu came through for Washington when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded, he hit a two-strike changeup to left field, staking his team to a 1-0 lead.
"We'll enjoy this ride as long as it lasts," said Nationals manager Doug Graff.
The wins continue to add up for Washington. The latest makes it 7 in a row.
