Braves Collect 4-2 Win Versus St. Louis
|
Atlanta Braves starter Matt Patras was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-2. In 6.1 innings, Patras surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The Braves now own a record of 27-36.
Atlanta used the timely hitting of Omar Carreon to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Braves ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
Carreon called the win "what playing unselfish baseball looks like."
