Orioles Axe Mariners, 6-1
|
Baltimore Orioles starter Jimmy Gill turned in an exceptional performance against the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field, resulting in a Baltimore win, 6-1. The second-place Orioles hiked their record to 35-30.
Baltimore used a well-timed hit by Ramiro Amaya to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Orioles ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Gill.
