The Charlotte Stone Crabs clubhouse was filled with glee and celebration tonight, while the St. Lucie Mets room was filled with despair and sadness after the Round 1 concluded.

"Someone's got to win and someone's got to lose, we're just glad we're on the good end of it tonight and can enjoy this," said Estaçio Barrocas, who was named MVP for a strong series of offensive performance.

Charlotte won the final game by a 5-1 count at Charlotte Sports Park and the series 3-1.

St. Lucie manager Felipe Guerrero was simple and to-the-point in his assessment of the series.

"They were the better team and deserve to move on," he said.

For the series, Barrocas hit .400 with a .438 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The Charlotte Stone Crabs don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Dunedin Blue Jays - Brevard County Manatees series. Dunedin leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
