Gwinnett Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in R2
Indianapolis had no answer for Gwinnett starter David Hedblom, who flummoxed Indians hitters as the Braves cruised to victory, 6-2, in Game 3 of the Round 2 today. The Braves now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series, thanks in large part to the right-handed Hedblom, who controlled Indianapolis throughout the contest and threw 8.2 innings of 6-hit ball.

Hedblom, the Gwinnett right-hander, went 8.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. He collected 7 strikeouts.

"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Gwinnett Braves (probably) 2098 Round 2 Champions'," Hedblom told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville.
