Almost There: Gwinnett On Cusp of Round 2 Triumph After 4-2 Win
A strong performance from pitcher Tim Russell was not enough for the Indianapolis Indians, who were stopped by the visiting Gwinnett Braves, 4-2, in Game 4 of the Round 2. The Braves never truly figured out the right-handed Russell, who threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Still, the Braves now hold a 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Gwinnett took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, catcher John Simon hit a 3-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Simon told the Gwinnett Bulletin.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville.
