Twins Turn Back Angels, 4-3
|
Minnesota beat Los Angeles at Target Field, eking out a 4-3 win. The triumph was primarily due to third baseman Bret McBride. He was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Adrian Tipton was credited with the save for Minnesota, his 2nd of the season. Their 35-31 record puts the Twins second in the American League Central Division.
McBride had a timely hit for Minnesota in the bottom of the sixth. With Minnesota trailing 2-0, he turned a first pitch sinker into a grand slam home run. It was his 14th home run of the season, making it 4-2, Minnesota.
Minnesota manager Chris Greuling praised his team's "no BS approach."
