The Colorado Rockies knocked off the St. Louis Cardinals, 9-4, in National League action at Colorado Field. Colorado pitcher and Easton, Pennsylvania, native Casey Neill had an outstanding performance. By defeating St. Louis, the 4th-place Rockies improved to 33-32.

Willie Montelongo swatted a 2-run double for Colorado in the bottom of the second. The shortstop went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and batted in 3.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said St. Louis manager Leyland Thomas.
