Round 1 Game 1 Victory for Islas and Ogden
When he got to Ogden, Mario Islas was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the Round 1.

The 22-year-old rookie left-hander shut out the visiting Texas (Rk+) Rangers 7-0 in a remarkable performance at Lindquist Field today. With the win, the Raptors took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 Round 1.

The famously hardworking Islas handled the Rangers all day, notching 12 strikeouts in 7 innings while allowing 4 hits. Islas goes to 1-0 on the year with 12 strikeouts.

"It's always fun to see the other guys getting frustrated, but the series isn't over and we've got to make sure to keep them on their heels," Ogden manager Joe Post said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lindquist Field in Ogden.
