The Tennessee Smokies moved to within one game of the Round 2, downing the visiting Biloxi Shuckers at Smokies Park by a score of 10-3. Smokies designated hitter Ed Medina did some major damage. He was 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win gives the Smokies a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Ed Medina made a major impact for Tennessee. He had 3 singles and 1 double, plus 3 RBI.

Shuckers manager Garrett Davis did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the Round 2."

Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at MGM Park in Biloxi.
