Lehman, Kannapolis Start Round 2 Strong with Home Win
|
The Kannapolis Intimidators powered past the visiting Augusta GreenJackets, 3-2, in the opener of the Round 2 at CMC-NorthEast Stadium today. Kannapolis starting pitcher Jeff Lehman threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Intimidators now lead the series 1-0.
Aaron Morgan dealt the GreenJackets a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with a runner on 3rd and Kannapolis leading 2-0, Morgan, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2093 draft, hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single.
"Winning never gets old," said Morgan.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CMC-NorthEast Stadium in Kannapolis.
