River Cats Even With Bees After Extra-Innings Win
The Sacramento River Cats went the distance and then some at Smith's Ballpark to drag themselves back into a tie with the Salt Lake Bees.

It took 11 innings to settle Game 2 of the Round 1, but Sacramento eventually took the 4-3 win despite the performance of Salt Lake pitcher Jim Kolling, who threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The clubs are now tied 1-1 in their best-of-5 series.

Sacramento used a timely hit from John Epley to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the River Cats ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.

Epley said his team "played with determination."

Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at Raley Field in Sacramento.
