Pisani, Braves Wallop Suns in Game 2 of R1
|
Mississippi designated hitter Lauro Pisani produced all the offense the Braves would need in the club's 6-0 win over the Jacksonville Suns.
Pisani was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, while Mississippi advanced one game closer to a Round 2 berth with the win. The Braves now hold a 2-0 lead over the Suns in the best-of-5 series.
With the game tied, 0-0, in the bottom of the fifth, Pisani had a key at-bat for Mississippi. With the bases loaded, Pisani hit a grand slam home run off Jorge Santana, making the score 4-0, Braves.
"It was a solid team effort," said Pisani after the game.
Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville in Jacksonville.
