Hops Heading to Round 2
|
A classic and dramatic Round 1 has wrapped up, with the Hillsboro Hops outlasting the Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers to advance to the Round 2.
Hillsboro won the final game by a score of 2-1 and took the series 3-2.
"We can enjoy this one tonight, but then it's back to work and thinking about the next win," said Hillsboro second baseman Paul Kish, whose standout performance earned him the nod as series MVP.
Kish hit .364 with a .391 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Hillsboro Hops will play against the Spokane Indians in the next round. Spokane won their series against the Eugene Emeralds 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
