Chicago A (SS-A) Moves on to Round 2
|
The championship aspirations of the Chicago A (SS-A) White Sox are still alive and well, while the Vancouver Canadians are left to wait until next year.
Chicago A (SS-A) won the clinching game of the Round 1 1-0 over Vancouver at Nat Bailey Stadium, to win the series 3-1.
"You feel like a little kid again, celebrating something like this," said shortstop Ruben Granados, who paced the Chicago A (SS-A) offense and was named series MVP. "We take everything real seriously when we're on the field, but after a series is over you can finally relax a little bit."
Granados claimed the MVP by racking up 5 hits for a .385 average, with a .529 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, 0 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Chicago A (SS-A) White Sox will play against the Tri-City Dust Devils in the next round. Tri-City won their series against the Los Angeles N (SS-A) Dodgers 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
