With a narrow 3-2 series win, the Peoria Chiefs have eliminated the Burlington Bees and are Round 1 winners.

"We tried not to look ahead to the Round 2, but we thought we'd be there for sure," said center fielder Jouni Ahtisaari, who was named series MVP.

Peoria won the final game by a score of 3-0, wrapping it up at Dozer Park.

Ahtisaari's big series saw him hit .500 with a .550 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 5 runs.

The Peoria Chiefs will play against the Great Lakes Loons in the next round. Great Lakes won their series against the Dayton Dragons 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
