Power Advance to Round 2
|
The West Virginia Power and Kannapolis Intimidators left it all on the field in the Round 1.
The evenly-matched series featured a bit of everything and in the end, West Virginia won the final game 4-2 to win the series 3-2.
"Full credit to Kannapolis, they played a great series and pushed us to the limit. But we're a tough team to beat. The guys are playing with a lot of confidence now," said Nate Scrivens, who was named the series MVP for West Virginia.
Scrivens had a 0.00 ERA over 8 innings pitched. He added 8 strikeouts with a 1-0 record.
The West Virginia Power will play against the Augusta GreenJackets in the next round. Augusta won their series against the Asheville Tourists 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
