Tippett, Suns Sink Biscuits Again in Game 2
|
The Jacksonville Suns moved to within one game of the Round 2, downing the visiting Montgomery Biscuits at Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville by a score of 6-3. Suns right fielder Thomas Tippett did some major damage. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. The win gives the Suns a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.
Tippett hit a grand slam home run in the bottom of the first to help the Jacksonville cause. The home run, which was hit off Manny Flemate, allowed Jacksonville to take a 4-0 lead.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Tippett.
Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery.
