When the games really matter, the Mississippi Braves put on their best show, beating the Biloxi Shuckers by a final score of 1-0. Josh Smith threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. Mississippi now leads Biloxi 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair.

Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, 27-year old first baseman George Stanford had a chance to be the hero. Biloxi pitcher Matthew Gillespie wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Stanford hit a sacrifice fly. The Braves had themselves a thrilling win.

"Josh was electric," said Mississippi manager Scott Oaks.

The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, September 21st , 2112 at MGM Park in Biloxi.
