Navarrete, Rawhide Sink Blaze Again in Game 2
The Visalia Rawhide moved to within one game of the Round 2, downing the visiting Bakersfield Blaze at Recreation Park by a score of 4-1. Rawhide first baseman Santiago Navarrete did some major damage. He went 3-3 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The win gives the Rawhide a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Navarrete delivered big-time for Visalia, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Adam Hupp. The game-changing hit put the Rawhide on top, 3-1.

"We're not going to sweep 'em," Navarrete said in response to a question after the game. "Bakersfield is too good not to take a game somewhere."

Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark in Bakersfield.
