Myrtle Beach Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-1
Overcoming a bravura effort from opposing starter Al Cerda, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans slipped past the Frederick Keys by the score of 4-0 and got their first win in the 2107 Round 2. Cerda threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the Pelicans. The win narrows Myrtle Beach's deficit to 3-1.

With two out in the bottom of the eighth, Greg Truex had a game-changing hit. The Pelicans pinch hitter slammed a 2-run single off Brian Gilmer, making the score 3-0, Myrtle Beach.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Truex said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."
