Emeralds Advance to Round 3
|
The Round 3 hopes remain strong for the Eugene Emeralds.
The team tonight eliminated the Spokane Indians with a 4-3 win, to capture the Round 2 4-2.
"We're rolling now," said Mike Key, who was named series MVP. "The pitchers are pitching, hitters are hitting, look out. I expect us to pick our game up to another level in the Round 3."
The standout offensive performance from Key included a .217 batting average, .308 on-base percentage, 1 home runs, 2 RBI and 4 runs scored.
The Eugene Emeralds don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Los Angeles N (SS-A) Dodgers - Chicago A (SS-A) White Sox series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
