The 21-year-old rookie on the mound turned out to be the least of the Bluefield Blue Jays worries.

Giving a high-pressure playoff start to youngster Antonio Olivares seemed like a risky move for the Blue Jays, but it was one of the few things that went right at Ballpark of Pearl River. Olivares tossed 7 solid innings, but it was all for naught after Bluefield dropped a 4-3 decision. With the win, Baltimore (Rk+) took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Harry Simpson was the walk-off hero for Baltimore (Rk+). With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Orioles third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Simpson.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Pearl River in Pearl River.
