Memphis Wins to Narrow Series Deficit to 2-1
The Memphis Redbirds have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Iowa Cubs, winning, 5-3, at AutoZone Park. Redbirds left-hander Ray Blasetti threw 8.2 innings of 6-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Redbirds to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Justin Steere helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run home run. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Redbirds.

"Nice win for us," said Steere. "Now we'll go after the next one."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at AutoZone Park in Memphis.
