Mercer Lifts Reds to 5-4 Triumph
Tim Mercer left his imprint on the 5-4 Cincinnati win against the Cleveland Guardians. Mercer, who finished 5th in the AL in doubles with 44 in 2091, went 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Dusty Edwards was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save. Cincinnati now has a record of 46-22 with the win.

The outcome might have been different had it not been for Mercer. In the top of the eighth inning, when the Reds were trailing 4-3, Mercer delivered a two-out 2-run single for Cincinnati, giving his team the lead.

"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Mercer. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
