Round 1 Game 1 Goes to Hillsboro, Thanks to Middleton
The Hillsboro Hops started the Round 1 in dominant fashion, blowing out the visiting Boise Hawks at Ron Tonklin Field by a score of 10-2 and securing an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Hops center fielder Josh Middleton had a standout performance. He was 1-3 with a triple and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2.

The Hops took the lead, 3-0, in the bottom of the second inning. Facing Boise hurler Chris Perigo with two outs, Bryan Burckhardt hit a 2-run double.

"We hit the ball on the barrel," said Hillsboro manager Carlos Diaz.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ron Tonklin Field in Hillsboro.
