Colorado pitcher Ruben Velazquez did his part in helping his team beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. A.J. O'Farrell was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Chris Fama. Victor Gonzales earned save number 4 this season.

Marquis Duncan had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Rockies. Coming up with the bases loaded and Colorado trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Duncan.

The third-place Cardinals now sit at 37-31.
