The Tampa Bay (GCL) Rays and the St. Louis (GCL) Cardinals will take the Round 1 to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation, the Rays beat the Cardinals, 6-2, at Roger Dean Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Tampa Bay (GCL) left fielder Scott Trotti was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.

Trotti had a consequential at-bat in the top of the fourth for the Rays. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Tampa Bay (GCL) trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run double.

"The competition leap this year was tough to adjust to and I feel like there has been another jump in the playoffs," said Trotti, a rookie this season. "You're only playing the best now and everyone has time to rest and prepare for you."

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 27th , 2110 at Louisville Grounds.
