Hernandez Blasts Cardinals, Giants Take Game 3, 5-2
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of first baseman Luis Hernandez, the San Francisco (Rk+) Giants got a road win against the Johnson City Cardinals, 5-2, in Game 3 of the Round 2. Hernandez went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Giants, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.
A key moment came with two out in the top of the second. That's when Hernandez hit a changeup from David Parker for a 2-run double, putting San Francisco (Rk+) up, 4-1.
Hernandez said his team "played with focus."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Howard Johnson Field in Johnson City.
