Iniguez Socks 2 Homers in 9-4 Win
|
The Toronto Blue Jays topped the Baltimore Orioles, 9-4, with third baseman Marcos Iniguez playing a big role. Iniguez hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Blue Jays in the win. Mike Williams picked up the win, lifting his record to 5-2 on the season. He struck out 2 and walked 1 in 5 innings, while yielding 4 runs. The Blue Jays, at 44-24, sit in first place in the American League East Division.
In the top of the sixth, Enrique Andrade delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Toronto center fielder hit a 2-run single, putting the Blue Jays in front, 9-4.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Iniguez told the Toronto Citizen.
