Dodgers Fall to Giants, 9-5
|
San Francisco first baseman Masataka Kato made his presence felt in the 9-5 Giants triumph over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Kato was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Ivan Vidales earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. San Francisco, at 42-25, occupies second place in the National League West Division.
Erik Mulloy took Sean McNees deep in the top of the sixth. His 3-run home run put the Giants on top, 8-5. In all, Mulloy had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"The name on the front of this uniform is all that matters to me," Mulloy told the San Francisco Citizen. "And padding the San Francisco win column."
