Oakland Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 2-1
The Oakland Athletics have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Houston Astros, winning, 7-5, at O.co Coliseum. Athletics left fielder Blake Zobel was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The win cuts the deficit facing the Athletics to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Division Series.

There was more than one reason the Athletics beat the Astros, but Zobel's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

"This team is real focused right now," said Oakland manager Jon Pearson.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at O.co Coliseum in Oakland.
