Brewers Net 6-4 Win Over Yankees
|
Kyle Archibeque had an impact in the 6-4 Milwaukee win over New York. The 25-year old center fielder was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was 30-year old left-handed pitcher Jason Panzarella. He tossed 89 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. Picking up the save was 31-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Rainey.
Archibeque contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Milwaukee in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Archibeque took a splitter from Bob Lattimer and stroked the home run to right-center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Brewers to leap in front, 4-2.
"Nice to get this one," said Archibeque. "Wins have been hard to come by."
Milwaukee now owns a record of 20-49.
