Chicago Wins Division Series
|
The Chicago White Sox said they are ready for the challenges ahead in the Major League Baseball playoffs.
The club passed a big hurdle tonight, eliminating the Tampa Bay Rays in the Division Series to advance to the Championship Series. Chicago won the final game by a score of 7-6 at U.S. Cellular Field and took the series 4-2.
"Everything is falling into place and going how we expected it to play out," said series MVP Mark Carnathan. "We've just got to keep momentum rolling."
The White Sox kept excitement rolling in their clubhouse after the game, as the team celebrated the Division Series win into the early morning.
"They played great ball, they deserve to celebrate," said a solemn Tampa Bay manager Kyle Delgado.
For the series, Carnathan had a 0.00 ERA over 7.1 innings pitched. He added 9 strikeouts with a 1-0 record.
The Championship Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
