Toronto Takes 2-1 Series Lead Behind 4 RBIs from 1B Desper
|
At 36, Dennis Desper knows he may not have many playoff appearances left, so he was determined to make it memorable. Mission accomplished.
The Toronto Blue Jays pinch hitter went 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once to help his club get past the Las Vegas Hustle, 6-5, in Game 3 of the World Series at Rogers Centre. With the win, Toronto takes a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.
The decisive blow was delivered by Alberto Castaneda in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Singleton to win the game for Toronto. The home crowd went nuts.
"The crowd flipped out," Castaneda said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
