Athletics Take Down Orioles, 3-2
|
The Oakland Athletics picked up a win at O.co Coliseum, knocking off the Baltimore Orioles, 3-2. On the mound for Oakland was left-hander David Saldana, who played a pivotal role in the win. Dana Joseph notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record now sits at 2-4. At 28-40, the Athletics are currently 4th in the American League West Division.
The Athletics procured the win, in large part because of second baseman Mario Marquez. In the bottom of the 13th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"David may be green behind the ears," said Athletics manager Jon Pearson. "But he's quickly learning how to contribute."
