Almost There: Toronto On Cusp of World Series Triumph After 12-8 Win
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of right fielder Tom Monroe, the Toronto Blue Jays stopped the visiting Las Vegas Hustle, 12-8, in Game 4 of the World Series. Monroe went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, while scoring 5 runs for the Blue Jays, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.
Nick Maruschak, the Toronto second baseman, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 7-5, Blue Jays. For the game, Maruschak went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 5 runs.
"Postseason wins taste oh so sweet," said Monroe after the game.
The next game is set to be played for Monday, November 5th , 2108 at Las Vegas Ballpark in Las Vegas.
