Minnesota Pins 4-1 Loss on Texas
|
Despite a great performance by Texas starter Jamie Allen, the Minnesota Twins defeated the Rangers by the score of 4-1 at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Allen threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball, but he couldn't prevent the Twins from moving one game closer to the World Series. Minnesota now leads the Championship Series 2-0.
Minnesota used a timely hit from Scott Wilhelm to get the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Twins ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"I love to hit," said Wilhelm. "As long as I keep loving it, the game's going to love me back."
Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Target Field in Minneapolis.
