Rangers Win at Home, 9-3
|
The Texas Rangers used the hitting of second baseman Justin Kerby to subdue the Toronto Blue Jays, 9-3. For the game, Kerby was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Mike Poole got credit for the save for Texas. It was his 9th of the year. With the win over Toronto, the Rangers improved to 35-33.
With Texas trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Kerby hit a fastball from Jeff Olguin for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Rangers ahead, 3-1.
"No disrespect to the other team," said Texas manager Stephen Gesualdi. "But it's nice to get an easy win."
