Braves Handle New York, Snag 5-2 Win
|
The Atlanta Braves beat the New York Mets, 5-2. Atlanta pitcher and San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic, native Ivan Trevino led the way. Chris Snodgrass closed the door for Atlanta, picking up his 18th save of the year. With the victory, the Braves record stands at 31-39.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Nick Sprague? The 29-year old first baseman Sprague stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put Atlanta up, 4-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Braves manager Dan Hoagland.
