Late Offense Lifts Toronto to 4-2 Victory
The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a win at Globe Life Park in Arlington, knocking off the Texas Rangers, 4-2. Starting pitcher Billy Demeter played a key role in the triumph. Demeter, now 5-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Picking up the save was 27-year old right-handed pitcher Jay Courtney.

Toronto relied on the bat of Eric Starnes to get the win. The right fielder ripped a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blue Jays ahead, 4-2. For the game, Starnes had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats.

"I felt strong out there," said Demeter.
