Astros Defeat Mets, 6-4
|
The Houston Astros overcame a good performance by New York first baseman Curt Tolley to knock off New York, 6-4, at Citi Field. Tolley went 2-3 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Houston reliever Emanuel Calleya got the win, raising his record to 2-4. Kerry Moreno was tagged with the loss. Dylan Scott was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 4 save opportunities.
Houston used a timely hit from Jeff Cinnamon to get the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Astros ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Cinnamon.
The win puts the Astros at 36-35, while the Mets drop to 25-44.
