In a low-scoring contest between the Minnesota Twins and the Cleveland Guardians, 26-year old right-handed pitcher Adam Pennington proved to be the difference. The Minnesota right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Twins win. Adrian Tipton, now 4-4, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Alex Casanova closed the door for Minnesota, picking up his 4th save of the year.

Minnesota took a 3-2 lead on Joe Oliver's 6th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Oliver hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Cleveland pitcher Kenny Guerrero visibly frustrated.

In postgame remarks, Pennington hailed his team's "grit."

The Twins are now 34-38.
